Where to Begin.....

It has been such a long time since I have posted and shared what is going on with us. Jason, Connor and I are doing great! We have made it through yet another Holiday Season and had so much fun visiting all of our friends and family. Our family tradition has been to adopt both of our families traditions which means lots of car time traveling around, but that also equals lots of good conversations with Connor. Let me share the one we had on Christmas Eve as we headed to Hamilton:

Connor: "Daddy, how long have been on this road?"
Daddy: "We have been on this road about 10 minutes."
Connor: " Daddy, this is a long road, why is this road so long?"
Daddy: "I don't know they just made it a long road."
Connor: "But why?"
Daddy (after about 10 more but why's): "Because the Department of Transportation of Texas submitted a bond proposal to make this road and have the road follow this route, it was approved by the voters and now we have this nice road."
Connor: "Mommy, huh?"

What a trip!!!

This year Christmas started early, like December 16. We drew names for the Hamilton Christmas, but wanted to still get Jason's parents something and because we were drawing names it gave Grammy and Pops the opportunity to buy Connor even more wonderful presents. They came into town and we went and road the Polar Express up in Grapevine. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but we had a great time. The next day we opened presents. I say we but really the present opening consisted of Connor going and opening everyone's presents and telling them what they got.

On Christmas Eve Eve (December 23) we head to my mom and Jackie's house to celebrate Christmas and spend the night. The past couple of years it has been lots of fun because my step brothers, their families and sister have all been there. This year my mom made yummy lasagna with salad. Mom iced sugar cookies with all three grandkids and had a birthday party for Jesus. We opened presents, and even met Aunt Casey's new friend Todd. Mom and Dad also got a phone call from Santa asking if he could drop off some of Connor's presents early because his sleigh was so full. So the next morning Santa had delivered some of Connor's presents.

After a delicious breakfast courtsey of Grammy & Papa Jack, we headed off to Hamilton for lots more family time and even more eating. Lots and lots of food!!
