Christmas in Hamilton

As hard as it is to be away from my family on Christmas, being a part of the Adams' family Christmas has always been an amazing experience. This year when we arrived in Hamilton we got a little shock. We got to the "big house" (Jason's grandparents) and went to go see everyone, but no one was there. Jason and I were a little concerned because Mama is always cooking when we get there. We headed to the Flower Shop to see Grammy and after a visit we headed back to pick up lunch and back to the "big house." Yeah! Mama was there and was getting the shrimp ready for Christmas Eve!

We had not been there five minutes when the phone rang and one of Mama's friends was getting rid of some living room furniture and wanted to know if Mama was interested. So 10 minutes later Mama and I were checking on the furniture. Oh my the couch, love seat and 2 chairs looked brand new. I am honestly not sure if anyone had ever set on them. What was even more exciting was the price. This sweet lady just wanted to get rid of them since she had gotten knew ones. I disappeared and called Jason because his grandma has been wanting new furniture for several years but just could not fit it in the budget. Since we drew names Jason and I did not get his grandparents anything and I thought this would be a wonderful thing to do for them. Well in less than an hour after the initial phone call the old furniture had been moved and the new furniture was looking great in Mama and Papa's house. It is literally the fasted furniture purchase and delivery I have ever seen. What a way to start off Christmas!!!

Slowly but surely Grammy, Pops, Mama Gary and the Garner clan arrived in Hamilton and the festivities began. We had our annual shrimp feast for Christmas Eve dinner, except for Katherine and I, we opt for other delicious alternatives instead of shrimp. Trust me, there are plenty of options all the time at Mama's house. Next on the agenda...PRESENTS!!!!

Presents in Hamilton are a big deal. All the presents get handed out and then one at a time youngest to oldest we go in a circle and open presents. We all drew names this year and somehow it still took us over 2 hours to open presents. Finally after playing with all of our new toys it was time to head to bed so Santa could come and bring the rest of the presents.

Christmas Day is also Papa's birthday! So we had a big breakfast thanks to Mama, Jason and Bev! It was Yummy! We got watch Papa open his birthday presents and then we got ready and headed down the road to Mamo and Papo's farm to enjoy time with them, and.... you guessed it more presents.

It was wonderful to see Mamo and Papo and we had turkey and ham from the honey-baked hame store. My granddad said it was not Christmas unless we had dressing so my wonderful grandma made him his special request. My aunt and uncle were there along with Grammy and Papa Jack. Connor got a wonderful Leapfrog Tag system that helps him learn to read and will read books to him and ask him questions. It is so cool. He also got some really cool books to go with it.
