After a VERY BIG trip last summer we decided to keep it a little more simple this year. Connor had been asking for awhile to go to Sea World. That decision was easy. After some talking with different people we decided to stay at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa. This hotel was great!!! I really wish we would have had more time to just hang at the hotel, but for us vacation is never about rest and relaxation, it is always about cramming as much as possible into a day and loving every minute of it.
We left on a Saturday as soon as Addison was finished with dance. We drove to Hamilton and spent Saturday night with Jason's grandparents and Sunday morning headed out to Lampasas for sometime with my grandparents at the ranch before completing the journey to San Antonio. Spending time with all the great Grandparents was a lot of fun. We are very lucky to still have so many around and try our best to see them as much as we can.
We officially headed to San Antonio about 1 PM or so. About 2:30 or 3 we had our first crisis. We are driving through Burnett and Jason looks over at me "Did you get the Sea World tickets?" I honestly looked over at him and said "Was I suppose to get the Sea World tickets? Were did you put them?" You see we had gotten a great deal on Sea World tickets - A GREAT DEAL!!! Yes, sad to say we left them at home. Lots of thoughts crossed our mind including Jason driving us to San Antonio and then driving back home to Arlington to get them and back to San Antonio. We did calculations and determined we would save like $50, so that was out. We would have had some overnight them, but we were going the next day with another family that was meeting us thereso we had already bought a parking pass and food passes. In the end we just bought ridiculously expensive tickets. Oh well and sold our other tickets when we got home.
Sea World was so much fun!! Addison and Connor loved it. We got there at 9:30 AM and left 9:30 PM - NO NAPS! NO COMPLAINING! They wanted to see all the animals, and we saw all the shows we could see. Lucky for us we also got the all you can eat meal deal, that worked out great since the restaurtants that participanted wer air conditioned and Addison ate I believe $30 worth of grapes alone and we probably drank $100 worth of water.

We went to Gruene to eat at the Gristmill one night. That was yummy!! It was about 1 hour from the hotel, but the town is so cute. Of course it was the first time all summer that it poured down rain while we were there and got stuck in a shop for about 20 minutes. Oh well. I did not get pictures other than some of the kiddos before we left the hotel.

| Headed to dinner at the Gristmill in Gruene! That is some good eating! |
We ventured into downtown San Antonio one morning. The nice thing about having young kids you are up ready to go at 9 AM. Jason wanted to show the kids the Alamo and maybe do the river walk and of course eat at Mi Tierra. YUM! YUM! YUM! I laughed through the whole Alamo walk through because Jason was so excited (me - not so much) and with in 10 minutes Jason was even defeated. He was so sweet trying to explain to Connor about the battle of the Alamo and what did Connor get out of it - Everywhere and I mean everywhere we walked we got the question "Did they battle here?" "How about here, did they battle right here?" Ha! We tried.

Did I say this hotel was great! The place is covered with trees, you absolutely do not feel like you are in Texas. They have an adult only pool, lap pool, activity pool, little baby pool, lazy river, spa, a beach area, hiking trails and I am sure much more. We loved the lazy river and spent time trying to teach Connor how to be "lazy" in the lazy river. No - he just wanted to go as fast as he could around. The hotel had activities for kids from 9 to 9. We didn't do many during the day, but several nights were there to do Smore's over the open fire by the beach area, princess story time, and we attempted movie night but that lasted all of about 5 minutes.

| Connor and Mommy snuck out to the pool while Daddy and Addison slept. This is Connor's first experienc of the greatness that is a cherry limeade. |
