Weekend Fun

As I type this it is a wonderful 82 degrees outside.  Today has been one of the most beautiful days we have had in a long time.  We have had the air conditioning off, windows open and the fans going.  It was wonderful.  It was the perfect end to a fun weekend.

Friday night we sold raffle tickets for the Optimist Club of Arlington. The Optimist Club is who we play football and baseball with.  They have one of the top rated programs and minus a few hiccups here and there we enjoy it.  I will have to get pictures of the boys selling the raffle tickets.  It really is funny listening to them explain what they are for, what they can win, etc. If our team sells the most we get to play at UTA, which for the boys is really cool.

Saturday morning (way to early) we had opening football ceremonies.  I think for the boys the most exciting part was getting their jersey's.  We had every intention of watching the Longhorn game on Saturday night, but opted not to travel to Highland Village to watch it at a restaurant.  Instead we went to dinner with good friends and had a fun time of catching up.  We do not get to hang out with the Bush's near enough!  Love you guys and can't wait for Chloe to get here.

Sunday we had church, watched the Ranger game and then our wonderful friends Joel, LaShonna and Chloe made the trip down from Allen (or as Jason says Oklahoma) for dinner and games.  The games turned into us watching the kids with the stomp rocket.  That was really funny to watch.  Several of the adults got in on the action.  LaShonna made some incredible banana nut cupcakes with buttercream frosting.  They were delicious!!!! I want the recipe but as Jason pointed out they did  not start with a box, and well, I need to start with a box. We loved hanging out with you guys and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Today was a lazy morning to sleep in and head to Grammy and Papa Jack's for breakfast.  It was delicious as always.  Papa Jack makes a mean breakfast, and Grammy makes some delicious pancakes.  Connor and Addison decided hanging out with mom and dad was just not going to work and so Uncle Todd and Aunt Casey had their very first playdate with the kids.  I think it was a success - Connor was glued to the Wii and Addison and Casey made cookies and took a nap.  I think they definitely get to hang with the kids again.

Coach Jason and Coach Darin handing out jersey's. I cannot say enough that - WE HAVE THE BEST COACHES!!!

Boys waiting for their jersey's.

Waiting for opening ceremonies to start.

Connor is pondering something, just not sure what.

Connor launching the stomp rocket.  We still have 4 on the roof.

Chloe about to send the rocket flying.

Little Miss, being little Miss!
