(I started this post when it was still summer and just been a little side tracked) 2012 has been the summer for baseball. So far this summer Connor has been to the TCU baseball camp, followed a few weeks later by the Texas Ranger baseball camp mixed in with a whole lot of Airhog baseball practices and tournaments.
I don't have to many pictures from the baseball camps but lots of pictures from the tournaments. We played a total of 4 baseball tournaments. Watching how Connor has improved from the first tournament to the last brought a smile to my face. We had some ups and downs and at times as his mom I questioned whether we did the right thing in playing this kind of baseball at age 7, but after the last game of the last tournament when Jason jokingly asked Connor if he wanted to go hit and he got a gigantic smile and said yes it made things all worthwhile. At the end of the day, as long as Connor is having fun, enjoying spending time with his friends, and learning the fundamentals of baseball, I am a happy momma.
Connor loves baseball and he did really well this summer season. Right now his skill set has seem him play middle infield short stop and second base. I am amazed at what he remembers and he got better with every game. His hitting got better too. In the third tournament he went 5 for 5 in one game! I would say it was a successful summer of baseball. We are currently taking a break as we get ready for soccer and football.
